Taking inspiration from Duet, the player is faced with a ring that moves in a continuous loop on the screen. On the ring are 3 dots that the player rotates left or right in an attempt to avoid collision with various obstacles as they make their way across the screen. Try to survive as long as you can.

The music was recorded by me on a Dana Bourgeois OMC Soloist Acoustic with a Zoom H4N Recorder. After attempting to use Bosca Ceoil for a few hours and not producing anything I was happy with, I picked up my guitar for the first time in ages and rushed to record a quick freestyle piece to add to the game right before the submission deadline.

Really cool mechanic and was much fun to play! It would make for a really good mobile game. Maybe the difficulty could ramp up a litte bit quicker to have playthroughs shorter and not have to wait for too long to come back to your previous records.

Thank you! I agree that the ramp up feels a bit slow. It's definitely a tough balance to strike between giving the player time to get a bit of a feel for things and ramping up difficulty, as the game is quite challenging and currently completely random.

This was a really cool concept and the game is super challenging! While I had fun playing I do wish there was more to it and it was a little more polished. Like, what if there were things you wanted to collect to increase your score? I saw squares show up but that was right before I lost, so maybe more shapes too? Either way it was a lot of fun!

Thank you! Glad you had fun with it! There are currently 3 obstacles (dots, squares, and rotating rectangles), each with 2 speeds. The feedback I've received has made me wish I had gone all in on this jam, since I admittedly put very little time into it over the weekend.

I am going to be looking into taking this proof of concept and using it as a foundation for a full game down the road though!

Pressing C in the menu and then returning back plays the music again without stopping the previous music!

Hey I like the theme loop with 3 balls on, it's such a difficult theme this month, I know I struggled with it, but this is a nice game, the music is pure chill, yet the game has you holding your breathe, normally I'd say use something that makes the game more urgent, but this does work! I'd kill to play this well.

So my cons, I guess the art is lacking, there could have been a lot more there, the idea itself was clever and kinda reminds me of that hexigonal game(can't remember what it's called)

It does seem to pick up difficulty up quickly, I only managed 3000+ I tried a lot more than I care to say! haha, I'll prob play a it more of this one, I love bullet hell like games, so this is my type I'd play in my normal gaming sessions.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! I definitely agree that it would have been nice if I had done more with the game visually. This weekend was a much lighter effort on my end compared to other jams I've done, so this game ended up largely being a proof of concept for a future project.

The difficulty ramp was probably what I spent the most time on. It proved quite challenging to balance ramping up slowly while also keeping the game interesting. The mechanic in general is quite tough though! Three dots is a lot to keep track of!

If you enjoyed this, I highly recommend checking out the game that inspired it: Duet. It's truly a fantastic game.

Very nice game! The idea is perfect for the theme and the gameplay is really great. I think it would have been nice to have special effects on death than just a fade. This game would be cool to see on mobile!

Thank you! There's definitely a part of me that wishes I had spent more than 10-15 hours on this one, as I quite like the concept and agree that adding a few extra touches like death effects and sounds would have had a significant benefit. I do think I'm very likely to expand upon this for a larger project with mobile as the primary target though!

Nice little idea but for me I found it hard to stay interested in what you've got here but it's a nice entry you've got ^^

Love the tune - it really set the tone for the game nicely - it made it into a relaxing game about gracefully pirouetting around the hazards. Kinda melancholy too, you can do your best to spin around and away from them but eventually they're going to get you. You just have to enjoy the the dance.

Thank you! I'm quite happy with how the music turned out too! I'm glad to hear that you think it fits the game well (my fiance is largely to thank for that, since she kept suggesting I go for something slow and calm). I think you put it very well!

Fun little game. If you were to work on this more, I could see it being a fun game to play on my phone to pass the time. Loving the acoustic guitar too! Was it recorded by you?

Thank you! I've been trying to figure out my next main project since my last one launched in June, and I agree that this concept certainly has potential! I'll have to do some experiments to see what works well on the narrower mobile screen, but im definitely very pleased with how this turned out, especially since I only put about 10-15 hours into the jam this time around.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the guitar! I tried to get something working with bosca ceoil for a few hours on Sunday, but I just wasn't producing anything I was happy with. So I picked up my guitar for the first time in ages and rushed to get something quickly recorded and tossed into the game within the last 30 minutes before the submission deadline.
