Explore caves for new metals. Combine metals in the forge to discover 4 unique alloys.
- A + D - Move
- SPACE - Jump
- SHIFT - Hit
- MOUSE - to use your inventory. Drag from your inventory to the forge.
- ALT + ENTER - Fullscreen Mode (for better visability)
Hint Copper is used in every recipe...
- Known issue with alloys disappearing when you re-enter the cave. Due to last minute rushing and bad playtesting :(
- Getting a few people experiencing crashes when picking up and item.

For what it is, it looks very pleasing because the art is really good. It's kinda satisfying to go and find out what kind of alloys you can make with the components. But I wish there was more to it!

For a first jam game, creating this kind of system in 48h must've been difficult. It's pretty impressive! However, I really think that the limited scope of the resource collection spoils the fun of combining them. Since the journey is always the same and never a challange, finding metals becomes more of a chore than an activity.

The concept is good, but I wish it would let you combine all types of metals, even if they just made a generic alloy. It doesn't feel very good to mine a bunch of stuff only to have it show a red X 😅

Fun idea, found all 4 recipes, will be great for a survival crafter later on :)

I feel as though the foundations for an interesting game are here - I enjoyed getting random elements and discovering new combinations, I was getting a mix of platforming and alchamy vibes which I enjoyed, I just feel it needs a little more refinement and some sound to really make it stand out - this is a good start and I hope you carry it on :)

Thanks Tydecon! Really admire your work and appreciate the feedback. Sound is always a weakness but I will make sure it features in future GM jams.

I was hooked by the concept after forging my first item but it was over 30 seconds later :'(
That was a nice idea and I definitely wish there was more content and combo to test.SubmittedBeyond The Window

Thanks for the feedback! I'd love to have had more combos so I hope to improve on my speed next jam. Love that you enjoyed the little proof of concept though!

I actually loved playing this game not-fullscreen even though it was the tiniest thing on earth. It kind of reminded me of Knytt Stories, one of my all time favorites.
One thing I noticed is that jumping didn't work for me when i was standing close to a rock or obstacle, which got a bit frustrating pretty fast.
Great art, wish to see the game fleshed out with sounds and stuff!

Awesome feedback Mark! Much appreciated. Will dive in and figure out the collision code with the rocks.
Haha I took the Low-Res challenge literally and was too scared / stupid to figure out what a viewport does :P Thanks for squinting though

Good start to a game, definitely needs more fleshing out and stability improvements, but crafting games where you also do the work to collect the materials are satisfying. This serves as a good foundation that can be built into a fuller game with sounds, a larger explorable area, and maybe side quests.
I noticed that there's a bit of oddness with the middle platform in the cave, if you try to jump into it from its side, you can kinda "walk" underneath it for a while. Not really sure what's up with that, it doesn't really break the game for more than a second or so, so it's not really a critical issue, but it is strange.

Great feedback Mimpy! Much appreciate the play and the recommendations.
Yeah I got that sticky bug too... Collision coding is in dire need of a debug.

The mining felt satisfying and it's a fun idea for the jam. Other have already pointed out that the main room isn't persistant but I suppose mistakes happen and I managed to make all the alloys either way.
Short and sweet entry nice job.

Thanks for playing GB. Yeah and it was a last minute implementation so I never even play tested it properly. Much embarrass!

I like this concept a lot, think there are a lot of ways you could go with it. Fairly basic as is - I got all four (I assume there are only four by the slots) different alloys over four cave visits, although they disappeared every time I went back into the cave so I never got a full shiny cabinet 😥
Graphics are really pleasant, as well, so yeah, this is a nice entry and I'd love to see an expanded version with more alloys to discover!

Thanks for the amazing feedback! There were only four alloys so you are the true winner (despite the medal cabinet lying to you!). Really appreciate you sticking with it.

The game simply shows a small window screen and is stuck on the image of the furnace. :C

I had a game breaking bug in the mine first time i entered where copper crashed my game. :/
Great effort though, the art is excelent!

Damn! Sorry the game was so buggy for you :( Copper is kind of important to the game too.
Thanks for stopping by and trying the game out.

I had the same bug as Eric Blackburn. I could complete two of the pieces, but then it would reset when going into the cave. Cool game though. Just needs some extra work, and maybe a view to make the screen bigger too. Good job, though!

Sorry for the lacking polish and last minute testing! I really need to understand cameras and viewports better.

Cool concept, but I felt like I couldn't progress. All I kept getting was copper/gold, and the main room would reset? So I would make something, it'd appear floating around my forge like I unlocked something, then if I go into the mine and come out it's gone.

Thanks for taking time to play Eric!
That's so embarrassing on my behalf. Not enough testing at the last minute. I can see an obvious solution now but didn't discover it while crunching for the deadline :(
