THE LORE

Raftie™© (you!) is stranded on a abandoned Island with a single coconut tree on it. Thankfully, Marrow the Skeleton™© was there to remind her of the game mechanics. She didn't have much time to consider her options however, as Raft-Raiders attack the Island!

I really like this one! I was going to fight to the end for the funny cat drawing but I feel like I've been bested and might give up...

As I played it over and over again, the beginning of a match felt very slow each time. It was not an issue on the first couple of plays of course.

I love the animation style of the characters! Looks like there's only one frame but it's wiggled around in just the right ways. The music fits very well in its feel of urgency and anxiousness (in a good way).

Pretty fun game, cute art and music, and mechanically sound. I felt the difficulty was pretty well tuned.

Enemy stuns would get a bit overwhelming at times, but that feeling of gradually being overwhelmed was kinda already present with the rapidly growing waves. Early, I did feel that it needed something to call waves sooner if you had already defeated all enemies on screen, as there were times where I'd just kinda be sitting on my hands waiting for the next wave.

I did get a game-crashing bug from selecting GM48 Login twice on the menu, and there were times when multiple tracks would overlap.

    Fun and addicting game!

I played for like half an hour, with one run going especially far (currently 2nd on leaderboards). In that run it eventually felt like the game started capping the amount of active enemies somehow—like idk if I was imagining things but it felt really strange. Like sometimes enemies would appear, but if I scrolled them off the screen they would just despawn. And sometimes no enemies would appear at all, depending on where I stood? It was nice though, cause it made it a lot easier to survive, and possible to deal with those fucking fire things. I somehow ended up finding one spot where I could stand, and normal enemies would just keep coming, and I could farm them for a while, almost as if I had found a way around my imaginary instance spawn limit—until I happened to get hit once and stunlocked to death :(

My only real complaints are that the stunlocking feels super punishing, the camera is a bit sickening and I wish there was some reticle sprite following the cursor to make it easier to see (can be fixed by making the cursor bigger in Windows settings, but still). Also fuck those fire shooting guys 😳

Fun game! I liked the different weapons and learning what the best ways to use them for were. Really cool to suddenly see a small village being created on the rafts. It did feel a bit too random to really strategise. One playthrough I had a crazy amount of treasure chests while in another I got an insanely big horde of enemies almost right at the start.

Cool game-- I like how the stage builds itself up over time. It would be even cooler if there were different 'types' of rafts-- whether that be special terrain with its own properties, or just visual changes, I think it would really spice up the variety, and also make it easier to keep track of where you are. The basic gameplay was fun, and I liked how items could be used two ways-- like eating food to heal or throwing it to damage people, or using your weapon in close range for a constant defense, or throwing it, which is extra powerful but destroys it. It made me feel like I really had to strategize, especially with the limited inventory. More variety in enemy types would also help keep the player on their toes, and help with the longevity, which is something a lot of jam games struggle with

Overall, really cool idea, and you implemented it well! Nice job!

This was a pretty fun game! It was a little slow to start off with, but when it picked up it was a lot of fun. I didn't end up getting that great of a score, but I still enjoyed my time with it.

I think this is a great game look, very addicting and well put together - a unique take on the theme and something I've not seen before - great job! My only critisism is the talking noise at the beginning could be toned down a little - that and I'm gutted digging at the X didn't reveal treasure haha, over all though, this was well put together and you should be proud of this one! :)

Very addicting gameplay loop! Throwing all those spears and fireballs and planks of wood gave me a feeling of joy similar to that of chucking around Chicken's sword in Nuclear Throne; chuckable weapons are always a good time.

Love how the tutorial let you know about the controls very fast, and rather than guiding you through the purpose of each item lets you discover their application yourself through usage of those controls; very crafty tutorialization given the time constraints. Visuals were perfectly functional too, despite the lack of any striking FX I never felt like I got confused about what was going on at any given moment. Also love that one of the best melee weapons is nail with plank. Very good.

The silly characters™©, cartoonish art style, catchy music and rapidly escalating difficulty all come together to make this so fun and addictive! I played several times in hopes of getting the high score.... alas, I don't think I'll be taking home that 1st place cat drawing, as I was completely overwhelmed by enemies after earning 104 points. I'll keep trying though!

Oh boy, how I LOVED this game! I had hellolalot of fun playing it for a plenty of minutes! Feels like a Left 4 Dead, plays like a DOOM, and looks like an ironic Scott Cawton's troll game! I really love it! In terms of gamedesign, someway it feels like a full-fledged game. Add more items, more enemies - and you can already publish this game somewhere for sale!

Great little game. I love the concept of the landmass expanding as raiders show up. Awesome innovation and very intuitive gameplay.

It seemed raiders ONLY dropped coins after about the 3rd wave, which made it pretty difficult as I had accidently thrown my spear by that point and was never able to get another.

Super fun game! Really enjoyed the feel of the combat and how the swarm of enemies ramped up. The idea of every item having two uses worked really well and meant you were able to filter items out of your inventory quickly to pick up new ones. The art was cute too. Ended up playing through it several times because I was having a lot of fun. Nice entry!

This game had a really great fun factor to it. The duality of items being both weapons and health consumables, the expansion of the level through rafts. Really great game-design ideas and well executed.

Had a lot of legit fun with this game! It was cool to try stategise whether to keep the item or throw it. It's soooo satisfying to see hordes of enemies get wiped out when my spear goes flying through them.

It's so fun when it is hectic and you are just trying your best to navigate around. I think the game could ramp up a little faster to get me to that point. Or a way to skip the tutorial to get straight into it.

I love the mechanic of how the island expands with the rafts too. Adds a lot of variety to it. Am I headed towards a dead end soon when enemies are after me? Should I start fighting back? Just lots of great strategies to ask yourself as you're playing.

I felt sometimes you do get stunlocked and can easily find yourself overwhelmed. Maybe be a little more forgiving i frames. Some item descriptions might help but it is also fun to try figure out what they do.

I love the fast pace of it. Art is very cute and the controls for the most part don't feel like I'm struggling against them. It's a smooth, fun, solid gaming experience.

This game is pretty fun! It's a little funky to get used to the controls, but I think that was just my brain not getting it. Well done!

What a great game! The difficulty is just right with enough challenge to make things interesting right from the start. And I love the how intense it gets in the end!

The game mechanics are relatively simple, but there's a surprising depth to it thanks to projectiles piercing though multiple enemies. It's just simply fun juking horders of enemies while trying to line up a perfect shot in the randomly generated(?) raft-maze.

I like the cute character designs and the art style in general. And thanks to some clever tweening, it took me a while to realize there are actually no animation frames at all!?
