Intringuing game (at least until it's explained by the song 🤣). I really like it overall, but the acting really threw me off. I though the ending song and radio chatter were fine, but the dialog and narrator didn't really work imo. The improv/"who cares" aspect of it doesn't really fit with the rest of the game. Maybe that's the point, to make things weirder? Idk, I think playing it straight, at least for the narration, would have worked better.

I love the mechanic of following the radio sound, it's simple yet satisfying for a story game. And I enjoyed just listening to the radio, it sounds like a lot of fun to record (and wham wham cameos!)! I had no idea what was going on, but this was one of the most hilarious games I've ever played because of the voice-acting and especially the song explaining the story at the end (I laughed sooo much, just pure delight!)

Fantastic. Really cryptic and ominous but also pretty funny, which is a combination you don't really see very often. Interesting gameplay and great graphics, but the immersive sound design is where this entry really shines. Great job!

For me, this game was a cryptic, aesthetic and even a beautiful audio experience. I love the artstyle. I like the little camera zoom that happens overtime when you are wandering around the forest. And overall I love the setting of this game in general. The story reminded me of a show I was watching recently and made me feel as if I was actually put into it and given control.
The sound design was so good and immersive, The moments on the shore felt very clearly relaxing and the forest felt.. intense and creepy. I only wish there was a audio slider or something added to control the overall volume of the game.
As beautiful as the song at the ending was, I kind of wish it didn't explain the story at the end :P I liked the cryptic vibe of the game and enjoyed coming up with my own explanation for it.
This was a very welcome experience to my eyes and ears. I loved it!

Presentation wise, this is immaculate. Very minimal in terms of gameplay, but I was pushed forward to explore just based on how involved I was in the story. Admittedly, I might not have understood much of said story, but luckily there was a song at the end which laid it out in no uncertain detail for me. A really cool experience I am sure to remember long after the jam has ended, great work!

I think I was no more than about 50% sure what was going on the entire time I was playing this haha, visually it's very impressive and I like the voice acting and the eery horror kind of vibes, though I do feel as though some kind of indication as to what was going on might change things - though I don't know if that would be for the better or not as if the sense of unknown is the vibe you're going for in this then you've nailed it haha very interesting entry :)

Always like to see gamepad support as that is my preferred way of playing. So I went with that. However the left analog stick can be used to move horizontally but not vertically (at least I couldn't, using an xbox one controller). So I was stuck between that rock and a fireplace for a really long time. I decided to take a sneak peak at the feedback section and saw comments about puzzles and spent probably close to 10 minutes just walking back and forth opening the radio and pressing the button.
after accidentally pressing the dpad and realizing I could walk vertically as well, it opened up a new dimension (pun intended).
I really liked the visuals and I liked building up this tension and mystery of what was going on and then ending it by explaining the story in a song. I also really liked the clashing of horror and humour, the merriment also felt genuine and I also got quite startled by the first appearance of the reindeer person. but I am easy to startle I guess 😅.
My only complaint is the analog stick thing. In all other aspects, I really liked it. Great job 😊

That was certainly an experience! I think this is an example of what a perfect score in immersion is. I was captivated the whole time. I found the clips you listen to on the device to be hilarious, and the general vibe of the game to be a mixture of tension and humour. I think you rode that line very well. I did get lost for a little bit, until I figured out how to really use the device properly, and then it was clear sailing to the end of the game. I really enjoyed this one, great job guys!
P.S. - I knew Wham Wham was an alien all along.

Wow, this was a really cool experience!! The voice acting was funny! But then when I got to exploring around it was really creepy. I would get scared when things got fuzzy thinking a monster would come out like slenderman or something xD But when I got further into the game I realized there was nothing to fear. The radio is a really cool idea. It took me a long time to figure out how it worked, but once I did it was a really fun puzzle. I stumbled upon the deer alien accidentally so I didnt figure out how to follow the radio signals until the "2nd part". I liked how the signals became harder to follow as you progress, it kept the puzzle interesting. The song at the end was cute and funny, I like how it went deeper into the lore in a fun way. Really great game!! Well done!!

Definitely know how to make an impact with the intro. I also ended up staying in the main menu a bit to listen to the singing. It's always a joy to hear your songs.
The whole game felt very improv which made me laugh at certain parts. Hearing the mouse clicks and the instrument moving noises. Also the laughter at the end of some of the voice acting. Sounds like it was a lot of fun to make. Hey, maybe it is a future theatre troupe retelling a well loved story.
I also started smiling when I heard the "Don't bring a tuba". It's a pain that seems to pass through space and time! The Bonte Avond multiverse colliding? Wham Wham trying to communicate?
Visually, the whole game is stunning. I think the pink and blue was a surprising choice that just worked out really well. They aren't shades that bring to mind sci fi or island but when you play the game, the tone fits perfectly with the pastels. Kinda dreamy kinda time travelly. It's great. It went really well with the radio sound as well. Static grainy image with the static grainy tone. Like I was looking at the game from another time. The distortion really gave me that mood. Colours were dreamy, melancholic, and creepy.
When the deer antler alien came up, it actually legitimately startled me as well. I.S.Land definitely gave me this weird see sawing of emotions where I was genuinely laughing and also on the edge of my seat expecting a jump scare. The ambient tone you had was so good it definitely added to the moodiness of it. Definitely a game I'd recommend to play with headphones. The directional stuff was really cool.
It took me awhile to figure out the mechanic which was a little difficult at first. I didn't realise how useful the device was. When it clicked, I immediately felt "in it" though. What a cool way to explore the map. I was so lost at first and then it was fantastic to follow the radio waves. Super immersive. I love the idea. Would love to see more of it :D I had the issue when I didn't realise the structures were in order. But then realised the radio had a use. Which I think was my bad as it should have been pretty obvious it was leading me somewhere but I think I was too distracted just enjoying the atmosphere.
Really nice job! I'm super impressed you did this in the shortened amount of time you had.

In a word - unexpected. I didn't know what to expect from moment to moment. I was in this split state of 'oh okay is this like a horror game' and tensing up for that, and then on the other hand the weird and improvised-sounding whimsical surreal nonsensical dialogue on the other end of the radio... Intriguing!
Really really enjoyed the song at the end - I wish more surreal and confusing media things had just a nice song at the end where someone just straight-up explained all the plot and motivations of all the characters. Something like that would've helped me sleep better the night after finishing PT.

So, uhhh... This is the longest to describe.
When i was downloading this game, I wasn't expecting something extraordinary. But when I played it, I was shocked by the beauty of the technical graphics (by technical i mean shaders and pixelation).
I was very immersed in this game. Despite the fact you werent trying to make this game serious, it feels as serious as nothing else.
Radio-radar is something really original. I liked that idea.
This game felt like a Firewatch game with a psychological horror elements. Very interesting, i'd play it if it became a full-fledged game.

Thank youuu, I reallly appreciate that! So glad you liked it! We started pretty late, but basically the first day of the jam fully went to creating and experimenting with those shaders and programming the effects that are happening. The actual gameplay/story/art was all made on just Sunday.
I think we started out more serious than we ended. The music and voiceacting was all in the last half our or so and we were so tired and crazy at that point that it turned the game to a more comedy kind of game. I think the combination of the both makes a very weird atmosphere that I'm glad we have explored :)

When I was making a game for this jam with my friend, at the first day we were just talking about what kind of game shall we make. Only on sunday we have started the development.
And... How should I say this... I was completing 3rd of 3 levels in our game at 2 AM, right an hour before the end of submitting. We felt very nervous...
So, I can understand ya

Oh wow... this started out hilarious (love that you gave up on the spoken dialogue on one of the early scenes XD), then turned terrifying, then back to hilarious. Took me a while to figure out the device's purpose, but that's all part of the mystery, right? The fuzzy screen effect is remarkably well-done, and lends to the feeling of helplessness. And as always, the music is incredible. I'm so glad you explained everything in the end, because I was so confused haha. Truly an experience not to be missed!

A seriously fantastic atmospheric exploration game! The game goes from mysterious to terrifying to funny throughout the 4 stages.
I really enjoyed listening to the radio whilst getting my bearings. I especially loved the music with improvised and laid back lyrics.
My only complaint is being forced to find the structures in a specific order. I found the third structure before the second. As a result I spent a few minutes aimlessly wandering around trying to figure out of this satelite dish had any use.
Really entertaining game with a lot of passion!

Thanks for playing and I'm so happy to hear you liked the radio!
That's a really good point about the specific order. Making clear to the player what to do while still keeping the gameplay challenging and the mystery... 'mysterious' was hard to balance with this game. We should plan some time next time to pay a bit more attention to that. Thanks for the feedback!

This raises the bar of what's possible in a game jam, really well done all around. I loved the story and that it leaves enough to the player's imagination. The art, sound and music were all fantastic. Really amazing work.

Well, that was ... confusing? The idea was cool and the style was kinda interesting but the aimlessness and the voice acting kinda brought it down, in my opinion. Probably worth persuing in a non-jam environment where the idea can be fleshed out more!
