Quick (due to lack of time) game I made to celebrate my birthday. It has several flaws, but it should work.

Thanks to TheKingDwarf (@ /r/Gamemaker Discord) for offering to make a soundtrack.

Really nice game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the GM48, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Wy06AcGSYb8

Nice and original, but I felt really bad at it :D (128 candles I think)

Nice idea for a game. It's simple but it works well. It's surprisingly challenging to get a lot of the candles. I really the dark background and the "glow" of the candles.

However, it should be made more clear that you can/need to move the direction while blowing. I didn't realise you could until I read the feedback after my first attempt... So I deleted the save file and tried again. Yeah, I know that's not really in the spirit of the game but I wanted to have a better chance after knowing what to do.

Because I thought the game kept looping, I pressed space a lot just to make sure before encountering the text that told me I blew it... Well okay I guess aha.

I wasn't sure how to actually use the wind as it never felt powerful enough to influence the blow. At some point I kept blowing where the candles were, ignoring the wind and it kind of always worked. At the beginning I didn't even know there was wind and didn't know you could actually change the direction of the blow. Since we only have one attempt, I think a tutorial would have been needed, even if very short!

The "ahhhh" should have more variations since you hear it so much!

Loved the dialogue, they felt cute and nice. The game itself gets repetitive though, I wish there was something to spice up the candle blowing, like new mechanics.

Damn I actually blew it, didn't even get half of the candles in my one shot.

I loved the idea, one of the best ones, the game itself was just ok tho, I had fun, but the wind physics and controls were kinda confusing. Overall a solid entry with a really good interpretation of the theme.

Pretty good for a simple little game. Not too fond of not getting to play again, but I guess that's where you put the theme in. Since you don't get to play again though, it could use more instructions on how to use the arrow keys to spread your breath across the candles. I did figure it out on my own, but it took a few wasted breathes to do it.

I enjoyed my time blowing out candles, even if it was short!

Now I must live the rest of life in regret, knowing that almost 90 candles remain lit to this very day...

I think im missing something i did not find the wind specially afecting the direction your blows go, i gues the fire sprite was nice

Hi. The wind in every level is different and has a speed between 1-10. For example in level 1, try blowing straight and you won’t hit the candle.

Great Mechanic! And very well executed. I love what you did with the theme. I'll never look at birthday cake without thinking about my high score again :)
