You've only got one shot of alcohol in your system - will this be enough to convince four bar patrons that you're off your rockers, or will they see through your lack of intake and oust you?
Warning: Contains strong language and alcohol use.
DISCLAIMER: This game is in no way advocating alcohol use. People will find you cool, no matter what you throw down your throat.

Very interesting idea! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the GM48, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/RxB8WIjpWF0

Really cool idea, art and music.
Biggest problem is, I think, that you're not really trying to look drunk, but rather tell people what they want to hear. Some times, the silly-drunk answer is considered "serious", that's weird. With some npc you need to be a good guy, but then with the 3rd one, if you try to avoid problems he's calling you out.
Anyways, once you understand what you need to do, it's pretty easy.

Really nice li'l game. It was fun and I had to try a few times until I beat it. Love the premise.

This was by far the most interesting take I've seen on the theme this time around. I loved the voices and I thought the dialogue was pretty well written, and the music in the background fit the mood perfectly. Gave me some serious Hotline Miami vibes.
My only qualm was that, when I finally lost, it felt somewhat 'out of the blue' so to speak. Perhaps giving the player a couple of chances, or let the characters get suspicious of the player before ending the game?
For a jam, though, this was incredible work! I look forward to whatever you make in the future!

Thanks so much for your awesome words, Dylan! You are 100% right with the losing state - the game needs some sort of indication when you've chosen a 'sober' or 'obnoxious' reply. A chance for each character would be an excellent way to fix this issue - this way players will know if they're stepping over a bit. However, it could make the game too easy since there's only 10 lines of dialogue per character.

Cool game! It's a pretty clever take on the theme and overall quite an original concept. It all works well and it's neat listening to what everyone has to say. The presentation is also very good. The visual style is cool and I like the talking sound effect as well as the background noise.

This game is hella polished. Let's be clear why:
it has Banjo Kazooie-like voice acting.
a small narrative.
Very well put together animations, and the sound when you lose plus the characters' mockery are very on point.
All of this without deviating from the theme. It was cool, and everyone had their line for your mess ups. Great job. I can see this as one of the winning games for sure.
The transitions are very subtle too, and I loved that. Great job man!

That's really a very original way to take the theme! The style has its charm and I like how everything moves.
However, I felt a bit clueless at times, not knowing how I screw up. From the comments, I can see that apparently, we can make several mistakes. As stated, it would have been nice to have feedback!
I was able to convince two of them; at some point it was a bit too repetitive to talk to them again if I wanted to complete the game. Wish we could skip text (or maybe I didn't know the right key, but since it's played with the mouse... only used the mouse)
Another thing is that, I like the sound they make when they talk, but I'm not so fond of the pace (yoh... yoh.... yoh) kind of wished for it to be faster, or a bit more random (like, sometimes they take one second to make a sound, sometime very quickly)

Good points! There is no way to skip text, which is something that I should have definitely implemented. And yeah - the only replayability is the fact that the answers are in a different order, which is pitiful!
A faster speech sound would have been a lot better! I just went with the first value and thought it seemed OK.
Thank you very much for playing and your feedback!

I really liked this even though I only actually convinced one of them. Wish there was some kind of visual feedback from the people in the bar if you were being convincing or not because losing sometimes feels random.

I love the take on the theme hahaha, I was really bad at the game though, the idea was nice and you implemented it really well, it was just a little bit too punishing though, maybe two chances would've made it a little more fun.

I could have done better with showing how obnoxious or sober your answer was. Each character has different tolerances (e.g. the "nerd" will let you talk quite tamely, but won't like an obnoxious player).
Thanks for the kind words though!

Everything swaying this way and that, it makes me think the character is indeed drunk and isn't faking it at all!
The soundscape is super good. As someone who is clueless with the auditory this is very impressive to me. Also, really good interpretation of the theme.

The four characters are unique and sound different enough to warrant playing all the way through. The sounds of both the npc's and the music is spot on and suits well. Gameplay is fun and I just had to convince each one to see what would happen at the end. Great game overall.

Glad you enjoyed your experience! I based the personalities off the traits of people I meet when I go to bars myself, so it was a laugh to make fun of them. I wish you could have heard me record the various sounds of the patrons... I was in hysterics after making the same sound 20-30 times.

Listening people talking in the game was fun. The music in the background is kinda catchy. Seems to have multiple scenarios when choosing differently.
Great game!

An odd but interesting take on the theme. The graphics are great; very eye-catching and the animations are spot on, they really help give character to the NPCs.
Cool sound effects, though the voices got a little repetitive. How did you do the sounds? It kind of reminded me of Banjo Kazooie with the way it used the sounds to cover the speech.
Each NPC had a unique vibe to them, so their dialogue didn't feel interchangeable, which is good. The HTML5 build works great too.

Thanks for your feedback! And that's awesome to hear about the graphics and HTML5 build working fine :)
For the speech stuff, I had four short samples of the sounds each person would make and would play one randomly with a random pitch. You can check out the source code here if you want.

This game is awesome. I'm not a "dating simulator" fan, but I couldn't stop playing until everyone was convinced I was drunk :) and I got to make four new friends. I'm really curious about how you made the sounds, haha.

Fun fact: This is my first "visual novel" style game! I've never really played any before either. Regarding the sounds, I actually recorded them all (even the music)!

The first things I noticed about this game were the animated preview, and the ability to play in the browser. It made it very easy to click on and try out. The background music and the chattering characters are excellent! It felt like I was in a bar, and I liked that there was more to the game than just reading some words.
