Sadly I too got the Stack Overflow error (on day 4). I didn't give it another try since it seems pretty common in the feedback so I assume I'll run into it again! The idea is interesting (if lacking the theme) and the art/sound is good. Congrats on giving 3D a go too - that always impresses me in these jams!

I assume the meat spawns in the court are there to distract rather than be eaten? I couldn't seem to eat them even though I was bigger than them and I tried hitting space lots :o

Pretty interesting game. The meat pet concept is bizzare but presented so well I can't really complain. The art is nice and the overall UI has a very cool style to it. The music is good but it's a bit lacking in other sounds. I enjoyed the the daily game of trying to collect everything and rack up points. Not a huge fan of virtual pet stuff but those segments were fine too. Unfortunately, the game crashed with a stack overflow error during the 4th day. My poor pet Meaty McMeat never got the conclusion it deserved!

Game looked nice, but it had bugs. Idea was funny, though I don't follow how Small World applies to it. This was virtual pet game, which was in competing themes(?). I liked overall look, I think you should try focus on coding practices. I see you have ideas and you can do the. But while executing them, I think you might miss some spots which causes bugs. Mostly I think you don't have experience to know what can go wrong and what precautions can be made even before writing the code. But these come with practice, and by your bio I see you are 'just starting' so experience is coming :) Good job overall.

I didn't expect the game to be that broken compared to how polished it seemed :(

My first expecience with it whas the same thing baku mentionned, because I tried moving with WASD (since there's no description for the game) and ended up pressing shift, which left me in an empty court for a minute, after I discovered that I needed to move with the arrow keys. Then on day two I managed to move without making everything disappear, but got a Stack Overflow almost instantly.

Tried again, and I guess I had the same experience everyone else had on their first try. But, I don't understand why the left / right rotation is reversed. I mean, it's logical, but not practical at all. I'm not sure what's the point of the sim part of the game, I couldn't understand how gauges evolved, sometimes it looked like the meat was hurting my friend?

Annnnd I don't see how the game follows the theme.

Great game. I love my meaty friend, even if he's only a standard issue 345 meat friend!!!

Bug report! At one point I thought "I wonder if I can sprint?" and tried to hold down shift. Bad idea! Textures go crazy (some leftover uv offset shader code perhaps?) and eventually the game crashed 😱

Really cool aesthetic and funny idea. Music fits well, the art is perfect for this type of game.

Sadly, the game crashed for me, got a popup saying stack overflow. But what I got to play before the crash was definitely intriguing.

Apart from the stability issue, my main question about the game is how it ties in with the theme exactly? It feels like it would fit wa lot better with something like virtual pet.

But as I said in the beginning, the style, art, music and idea is really cool and I enjoyed it :)

This was a really unique idea, and well executed - I wasn't expecting a 2D almost-physics-based pet sim to switch into a 3D basketball court for me to go around chomping basketballs, baseballs, and then birds, but it made me smile more than once 😄 The art and general presentation was predictably fantastic as well, including fitting music.

I had a couple of technical issues. On the most major side, the game crashed after the third court section with a stack overflow. I assume this was the natural end of the game though, as it did mention being the final day. I also found that turning was speeding up with each subsequent 3D section - it was kind of helpful in day 2 to have that little extra dexterity but in day 3 I found it tough to control. On the much more minor side of things, I couldn't find a way to eat the meat in day 3 - it seemed to be a size-related thing but try as I might I couldn't reach whatever score that needed. And lastly - the HUD in the petting section says "VITALIY" rather than "VITALITY" 😅

Superb entry though, with a whole lot of room to go further. More minigames akin to the 3D segments, more to do in the petting on top of jiggling the lil sack of offal around and feeding it chicken and drink, etc. would really make this something special.

Game is looking nice and the music fits greatly!

Funny characters and the idea of meat pal was great :D

Few times the graphics glitched a little when eating the basketballs and baseballs on the field, but that is a minor thing.

The music was really good, strange game but I played until I got the stack overload error on day 3

Pretty funny game, sweet art and music, very awkward controls! Finished eating stuff at day 3 before it crashed. Would love to see how the story unfolds, I wanna beat Ricky!

Game crashed on day 4 but until then it was pretty neat. "Stack Overflow..." was the name of the window that popped up

Haha, this game is ridiculous and I love it. The artwork and music were great, really good job there.

I had some UI issues on my end, the game was slightly cut off at the bottom, just enough to be annoying. I couldn't find a way to full-screen or change the resolution, so I was stuck playing it that way. No big deal though, was still a fun time.

    Nice work :)

I had the 'Stack Overflow' bug on day 3 too sorry! Is this a bit like Katamari Damacy and also Tamagotchi? I really like the jazzy fruity graphics :)

Cute graphics. Nice UI too, I haven't seen much of those done to jam games, so it was nice to see one, especially one what was well made.

I got Stack overflow crash after the third day. I didn't attempt to play game again since I felt the arena phases a bit boring. Maybe the time could have been shorter? The 2D/3D combination was nice though.

The theme wasn't really visible there.

First of all, the art and music are great! UI is very polished to a point where it doesn't feel like a game jam entry at all! Very high quality. The gameplay is fun and unique and the 3D looks great!

Sadly, I got a Stack Overflow error twice on day 4, so I could not finish the game :/ And I can't quite see how the theme "small world" is fitting :D

Overall very cool, fun and polished experience! I'd love to see what you're able to accomplishe outside of the constraints of a game jam!

You've clearly spent a lot of time preparing for the "Virtual Pet" theme haha! Still, it's silly, it's quirky, it's fun! What more can you want? I like the style and the execution, I hope you carry on with this project! Also... Press the any key? Where's the any key?

Very strange, but oddly, very fun. Day 5 was a nightmare, and the camera controls was a bit hard to master, but, this was a great effort! Also, the GUI was scaled very strangely, and a lot of the effects lost a fair bit of their flare.

It's a very entertaining game, made me laugh at the start of the game when you first talk to Shades, I got to around day 4 until my game crashed because of some sort of "Stack Overflow" error, after relaunching I was sorta disappointed there was no data saving in this game, but it's a jam game, so i understand. It's overall pretty fun, the only things that bugged me were the text not being centered on the timer during the part where you get to feed your meat and the sensitivity on the movement was way too high on that part too. Aside from that, it's a really cool little game! Love the music and art, great job!
