Installers are big no, though I still played this. I completed the game, but I felt there were unfair deaths. It is easier to write about things which needs improvements than praise things, so I am not trying to flatten you though I give you critique ^^"
Suggestions for platforming improvements:
- Player doesn't need to touch ground to jump, you can make player able to jump just bit above the ground (like 4px or something, experiment), this helps when you are falling to ground and want immediatly jump again.
- Player can jump after running over ledge for short period of time (few ticks, experiment). This helps player not accidently running to pit of death if trying make super long jump.
The spoons could have darker outline or something to pop up from background, they now blended too easily there. Fast moving background with high contrast (black&white) isn't eye friendly, it irritates and make nauseous. You could have made low contrast background, like dark blueish gray and bit lighter color, therefore it wouldn't have distracted player as much. The viewport changed in one level to way too small to know where to jump, had to go with trial and error to complete the level.
This had a bit of Super Meatboy feeling, the wall jump was made well. The animations of Mr Square were minimalistic, but they were bit fun. The music was good, but it didn't loop when I played same level longer time. Keep up on learning :)
And no, I won't draw Mr Squares funeral as I don't need to ;)

Please, NO INSTALLERS! Every gm48, some people do that atrocious mistake and it is really, really annoying... Before uploading it tells you to avoid installers, why would you even do that... :(
Spikes are super hard to see and the level design is questionnable. The destruction of the cereal and his facial expressions are neat though!

Overall this is a fairly well made platformer. It controls pretty well and it can be fun navigating through obstacles. However, it has some flaws. The level design is a bit unforgiving and has several moments where you can't see where you need to go to avoid dying. It's nice that a restart button is provided but I feel it would make sense to just automatically restart the level when you die.
The visual style is overall nice and charming. Mr. Square is animated very smoothly and his expressions really add a lot of personality to the game. Unfortunately the colours weren't chosen to well which often leads to walls, obstacles and the timer being very hard to distinguish from the background.
The music sounds good and gives a nice upbeat feel to the game. It doesn't loop properly though, so after a while the game turns completely silent. Some sound effects would also add some life to the game.

Please PLAYTEST your own game in everyway possible. When the platform moves in level 3 and you die, it doesnt reset. Otherwise nice idea! and nice little animations!
And the installer is a No-No

The first thing you notice about Mr. Square wants to get EATEN is the beautiful hand drawn animation. The main protagonist of the Dark Souls of 2D platformers is so charming, fierce and adorable, that it's kind of a shame that the rest of the world looks so bloody lifeless. The spoons blend in with the solid-colour background, and breaks the established style with the black outline. That being said, the changing tileset and Mr. Square makes up for it to some degree.
On gameplay, the controls are a decent, but the character feels floaty, making it hard to avoid the already hard to see spoons of death. The game gives you the option of restarting, which is sometimes a necessity, but sometimes deprecating to progress. I personally think a full reset upon death, combined with more forgiving level design would have been more enjoyable. More forgiving meaning, no blind drops into spikes, more clear direction, like where you have to go, and no bloody outside the screen spoons. On that note, the timer is occasionally obscured by blocks, so you end up thinking "what killed me there?". Also, more mechanics would be very welcome!
Soundtrack is suiting and cheerful, it doesn't loop unless you restart the level, which is a shame.
Overall, I enjoyed the game and finished it. With more time I'm sure the game could reach it's full potential.

I like the cute cereal protagonist!
I think there's a bug in the (first?) level with a moving platform. After I died, the platform didn't reset.
