You control a submarine, and the objective are to collect junk piles laying on the depths of the ocean.

The oceans are reaching a point of no return in polution, and humankind has never discarted so much junk and plastic as today on oceans.

This game was made as a form to spread the word while entertaining.

Your objective is to collect junk piles laying on the depths of the ocean.

CONTROLS WASD or Arrow keys - Moves your Submarine"; Spacebar or Left Click - Pickup Trash

Having trouble finding the junk? - Click on the top Right Radar;

Lovely message. I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/7cH9DVFtgzM

I thought your interpretation of the theme was quite clever, and topical. And huh, I wonder if this is the first gm48 game with such an obviously in-your-face environmental/political message? 🤔

Plastics in the ocean is a topic I've started caring a bit about myself, having recently bought metal straws and started always carrying a fabric tote bag around. I question how great the benefits really are (when you factor in the fact that it presumably takes a lot more resources to produce metal straws and fabric bags, etc.), but regardless I think some of my sister's crazy greenpeace save-the-planet attitude is starting to rub off on me, haha

Anyway, it was a little repetitive, but quite polished. Language options and everything, dang!

    "ahah fish with arms"

"here's a few facts about how we are killing oceans"

    "oh é_è"

Honestly a good idea, and a well polished game. Although the text might be a little too "in your face" (like, if would have been cool if each fact was represented in some way in gameplay), it's like balancing, you can't expect too much from a jam game.

I love the message you're giving off in this game and the music, style and graphics are incredible. My only critique is that there's not much in the way of actual gameplay. It feels like you're just moving your submarine to the next fact. If you're trying to make an educational game, especially for the likes of schools, which is the vibe I'm getting from this, you need something to keep people occupied between the trash and the facts, something to avoid, some bonuses, some obstacles. Put some things like that in there and I think you've started a solid line of educational games you could pitch to schools!

Hey Tydecon, thanks for playing my game and writing me a feedback. About the obstacles, are a design decision to make the game as accessible as possible. Thanks again for your kind words. =)

This is really well executed. The art is very consistent and all the background elements provide plenty of visual variety, and the music is perfectly fitted for an underwater exploration game.

Raising awareness about plastic pollution is a really good choice relating to the theme. Collecting all that waste and reducing the amount we generate is a real priority in the world!

Overall this is a strong submission that's very well presented. You really seem to have focused on making the game feel like quality, with the good promotional art and the subtle underwater visual shader and all that.

I really like that you tried to use this as a way to build some awareness about plastic pollution issues. Didn't expect anyone to do that so good job!

The game itself is well made - it's really nice visually and the music fits well. The gameplay itself isn't the most fun but I don't feel that is the point of the game and anything too 'fun' would take away from the message.

I started off without the radar but after a few junk piles I turned it on since I wanted to read the next facts quicker!

    Good job!

Game is pretty rad! The effects are extremely pleasing to look at and I love the facts you get along the way. I ran into an error for some reason on the titlescreen which forced me to abort after collecting the trash but I didn't encounter anything whilst playing.

    Really nice work!

Interesting game. It definitely gave me Subnautica vibes with the nice water effects and the chill music -- I loved that part! The gameplay isn't that fun to me though. Maybe if there was some element of danger, or some other mechanic that challenged the player in some way. I managed to find all but 1 pile without the radar, so I'm glad of it's inclusion.

Also, I had a big technical issue. It seemed like the game was designed for a certain resolution? I have a 1680x1050 monitor, and there was a big part of the screen that was cut off, and there was no window title for me to move the window around with and/or maximize/reshape the game window. This also caused the hitboxes of the menu options to be off (it's good that the menu text 'enlarges' when hovered, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to figure out where to click to start the game).

Anyway, this game has a lot of atmosphere! I just wish the game had a little more to do to go with that. Aside from that, and the technical issue, it was well made.

PS. Here's a screenshot of my issue.

Hey Naxos, thank you for your feedback. About the issue, I noticed and it was a small error on the shader object, but the jam was already over. =/

Great game, took me a while to find the last trash pile (because I didn't use the radar whoops) but I got it :)
