Fun, polished game! I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/yIsOdyc3NkA

As always tons of content and wrapped up in a fairly polished package! Music was great, the bullet-hell aspect of the game was on point, and the difficulty curve was just challenging enough :) Not super stoked on the use of the theme, nonetheless a top 10 contender for me, great work on a solid experience!

I don't play bullet hell games, but it was fun enough. As always, you crammed a lot of content into your game. I more or less sailed through the game without too much trouble (hurray for abusing bombs on the bosses!), but died on what I assume is the final boss. When I restarted and saw all of my upgrades had been taken from me, I may or may not have rage quit a little bit :(

Best part of the game was the music!

Thank you for playing, and I'm glad you liked the music! I did some playtesting before the jam ended, and it was pretty hard then. I bet balancing this kind of game takes work, so I'm sure singleshot appreciates the feedback~

This time around, making feedback through videos, so here is the video your game is in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVf_z_I1wh8&feature=youtu.be

Really nice game singleshot! I'm not at all familiar with the bullet hell genre, so I can't really critique it from that angle. It was pretty fun! Every time the bullet output went up was exciting, haha!

As you can probably guess though, I was pretty bad at it. I even cranked up all the assists towards the end. I got to the second level boss (green gal), but I didn't manage to beat her. I sort of wish you got a least some base-level upgrade at the start of the second level, as I found it hard to catch up while just having the single stream of bullets.

The art was good. The music and sound were great too! Really nice menu as well; it's always tempting to skimp on those in a jam game.

    Nice job!

PS. I uploaded a video of my playthrough.

Lots of fun! I am a little biased because I like the genre, but I think you pulled it off very well. The music was catchy as heck and fit the game and art style. The drawbacks of impossible maneuvers and stunts were mostly balanced with bombs clearing the screen. The controls of old shoot 'em ups was mimicked perfectly, and the game just kept going, staying its welcome perfectly. I do think the theme could have been incorporated more, but it did do its job. Good submission.

Pretty impressive entry you put together. I enjoyed the artwork and music, and the tutorial was a great addition. Could tell you put a lot of thought and effort into this. Wish I was better at these types of games so that I could have played through more of it. Nice work! :)

This is a very fun, very well programmed bullet-hell kind of game! I like what you've done here and it's a very creative style too! Great job!

After a bit of thought, yeah this is a pretty incredible feat. It's stable, reasonably accessible through options, and quite polished. I'm no bullet hell veteran so I was rocking the max lives/bombs baby mode to see the rest of the game. Music man killed it but you knew that. Story was SUPER anime but it being there is pretty inconsequential.

    My nitpicks:

    • Art is generally good, but there's room for improvement in a few places (as is the case for most people).
    • Bosses are the only hard part but idk if this is how bullet hells are.
    • There's a specific blue arrow bullet that just suddenly changes direction and it felt weird.
    • textboxes could use a redesign.

Good job and please sleep more :)

Yo that music tho... absolute bangers.

Okay so, I'm pretty bad at bullethells and don't have that much experience, but I like them from time to time. So I started with 5 lives & 5 bombs, and I love that this was an option, usually jam games are way too hard! But when I found out on the first boss that taking damage didn't act as a bomb, I went back and gave me all the lives. Then I couldn't skip the tutorial!!!! è_é

Ok that's not that big of a deal, especially since it's a really nice touch, but those are my two main complaints. The third one is that on controller bombs and precise movements are on the opposite side and usually I want to use my bombs at the last time possible if I mess up, and in this I usually took damage right before using the bomb :( I would have like it being mapped to a trigger/bumper.

My fourth complaint is that collecting points was kinda hard, I wish there was a little area around the ship that attracted the points, at least when you stopped shooting... Yeah, I took a lot of damage while collecting points when there were no enemies left :'D

And finally, even if the art was very good, I wasn't a fan of the ships design.

Anyways, I ran out of details to rant on, this was extremely good, beat it without the slow mode but with max lives / bombs. I don't know if the boss indicator is a standard in the genre but this was a nice touch too. The best thing is honestly the boss patterns, they weren't boring, but still interesting and readable for someone that's not that used to the genre.

A very impressive entry in terms of style and presentation (esp Dialogue). I totally suck at bullet hells, though i frustratedly didn't finish it, but i could tell it was a decent entry for this kind of genre. Very good game for the jam.

The art and music in this are absolutely fantastic, the menu didn't really catch my attention much but everything after that had me HOOOKED.

The gameplay was incredible, this reminded me a ton of Touhou and it felt really good to play. The tutorial explained everything I needed to know, but I had to switch my keyboard layout from German to English for all the buttons to work!

      Thanks for the FeedBack!

I still think of myself as a programmer primarily but I guess I can my some decent sprites if I'm lucky.

as for the music I agree 102% Forte really came though and I'm amazed how much of a banger these songs are.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game play. funny enough touhou games are my main inspiration for this game. over all I'm happy with this.
