Summary

Sewer Descend was praised for its stable gameplay, interesting water mechanics, and satisfying core concept. However, multiple players noted the lack of sound effects and basic art quality as detracting factors. The shop mechanic was commonly viewed as a tedious and unnecessary interruption, with suggestions to improve or replace it. Overall, the game showed promise but could benefit from added polish and expanded features.

Great concept, I really enjoyed the game play and the rat sprite is pretty awesome especially when they are moving down. The art needs polishing for the most part but the trashbags bobbing and floating downstream in the water, that made the game so much cooler than it already is. And the overall game play was oddly satisfying, nice work.

Looking forward to a much more polished version of this one for sure!

The game doesn't have good art, but you definitely know how to polish it!

The shop system is kinda useless and just makes the player waste time by going up and down, you could probably replace it with medkits and supplies spawning in the sewer water.

The idea is kinda cool, and you also implemented it well, you definitely need sound though, and probably some better art.

I can also see randomized levels being cool for a game like this, so you could probably make an endless mode.

Pretty cool little game. The shop idea is interesting, but could probably be expanded (maybe with upgrades?). The graphics are pretty basic but I do like how stuff looks in the water. I really like how the current carries you and the trash. It could use some sound effects, though.

    Nice entry.

I would have liked to see either more done with the shop. Visiting a shop in a game should be fun, not a chore. It felt like it was just an extra step you had to take in the middle of a level. The levels are definitely more interesting with the water there, but I think they could have used another mechanic added instead of just more rats and garbage.

It really needed some kind of simple sounds :( The water was a nice touch though. Not sure why we needed to boy mode supplies, either. A little more variety would have been great, maybe letting the player buy some kind of bonus would have been more interesting. But I know that's a lot to ask for a 48 hour jam :) Nice game overall.

The game was very stable and what art appeared finished looked good for the time constraint. The entire lack of sound killed it some where some simple sounds from the rats would have made an incredible difference.

It felt like I was floating around the levels. Might have something to do with the face I was a simple cube. Looked like it was a design choice because there's a point in which the hero is a cube with a broom. Odd choice.

The theme was strong. However, it felt like I was hindered a great deal with having to ascend back to the surface for supplies. It felt unnecessary and I never had to buy anything other than more cleaning supplies. Would have been an amazing difference not to have to go back to the surface and instead spend that time exploring more levels.
