A short adventure/exploring game/experience inspired by classic .exe creepypasta games and Yume Nikki.
Beware, there are 2 endings!!
WASD | - Movement |
Space | - Jump |
E | - Interact |
F | - Fullscreen |
1 to 9 | - Change Windowsize |
Those who know .exe games more or less know whats coming.
There aren't any loud jumpscares, but there are some sudden motions so beware.
There may be effects that can interfere with sensitive peoples brains (epilepsy), but there arent any flashing colors.
There may also be some story themes that might be distressing to some people, but don't worry there's a good ending :)

You got the creepiness there, nice :> it was well done .exe game, could have had more spooky music on later stage though. Also it was good that you had indicator which deaths have been completed.
Oh by the way, I found fish with the legs!
Also sidenote, I managed to get this guy stuck midair: Before completing that task I was wondering would that happen x)

I've heard some people complain about games using subpixel animations, but the way it works here makes it look so nice and clean. IT's very distinct and combined with the surreal atmosphere and story elements, this game was weird in the best way.

Very creepy! All of the events are so unsettling, and it's cool that you squeezed in two endings (although the Good one is definitely my favorite haha). The art and music is perfect for this type of game, and I like that you have to keep resetting the world and accessing new areas to continue the story.

This was great. Even though it was just little pixel characters and tiles the art all looked really sharp and the various visual effects that occur throughout were really cool. The Good Ending was really nice too. The fact it even had an alternate ending of any kind was really nice given the time constraints. Really impressive. Great work.

This game was pretty cool, the continual trial and error was really fun. By only gripe is that the player's jump/fall felt oddly quick compared to the horizontal movement speed, making everything feel a bit slugish.

Thanks for your feedback :D
Yeah, we didn't tune the jumping/walking all that much, since platforming wasn't really the focus of the game.
We should have definitly tweaked it a bit.
But I'm glad you enjoyed the game regardless of weird movement ^^

This was fantastic - loved how surreal it felt and looked! The character sprites (and how they operated) was amazing, and it was a very interesting experience to play through it.
Great work, y'all!

Got a high Immerson score for me. This game definitely nailed the spooky creepy pasta feeling of dread and mystery. I did feel a little lost and misguided but that added to the unsettling feeling of moving around. I couldn't full screen the game which was a minor gripe but other than that it was a pretty solid submission.
Edit: just read in the description that F is fullscreen haha

Thanks for your feedback :D
It's really good to hear that the immersion was good, because we really focused on that.
We added altars to the right of the house to show what events you triggered on which side, but other feedbacks also mentioned that it was a bit confusing. We probably should have explained it a bit better or do something else.

I like the creepy .exe style atmosphere you've got going for this game, it's an interesting concept and I had fun. I would like to have seen more content but I get that the time limitation can be an issue with that, but overall, good job! :)

Hello I had a litttle go of the game. I quite like where it is going. I liked how the character sort does that flippy thing as you turn them around and the legs kind of flip out a little bit whilst jumping (that's cool). I did actually jump a bit with the jump scare down below which made me laugh (lol). I like hows theres little character walking around etc.
I liked that music and the jump scare sound effect.
I died I think twice.
I like how the level changes after each time you get caught out or what have you.
I liked the colours/tone etc in the artwork.
Also like the lighting effects.
Other than that I can see where your going. I wasn't sure whether you could get a feeling of "achieving something" as I got to a point where I couldnt figure out what to do next (perhaps this is good that I wanted to play for longer).
I understand with the time frame that could be awkward though.

Thank you for playing the game! While play testing we realised that it was kind of confusing for the player, what "events" are still left. We put the glowing altars into the game to make it more clear, however, our friend-playtester also didn't get that. Glad you still liked it!
