What is this new world? What are these flakes falling down? THEY ARE EDIBLE!!!!!!! Use the arrow keys to move the fishy and eat as much as you can.

What's there is good, but I wish there were more there :)
Can't really complain though, it's a short gamejam after all. Well done!

It's pretty simple, but it's also kinda fun just driving the fish around the bowl and seeing how big it can get. I was a bit worried it was just going to keep getting bigger and bigger forever... The controls take a bit of getting used but they were fine after some practice.
The presentation is similarly simple, but not unappealing. The graphics look nice enough and the music is okay. I really like the "nom" sound effect for eating. Something about sound effects made using someone's voice just amuses me.

Thanks for playing! My voice is my signature asset when it comes to my games. Whether it's a simple lava sizzle or a character talking about hot dogs, it's one of my favorite parts when making games.

I felt this was all a bit too simplistic, gameplay, music, graphics.. I think a a few little tweaks, the game would have been much more engaging, like some sort of enemy or different things falling from the top you had to avoid. Because technically, the game played itself. You could theoretically stay still and you would eventually grow to the maximum.
The take on the theme was good tho, and the ending was really funny :D

Thanks for the feedback. I would have loved to have added extra things like enemies, but due to the time constraint I didn't have time. As for the music, I threw that together within 10 minutes in LMMS but importing it into GMS2 gave a pause to the loop. But I still had fun, as always, participating! Thanks for playing!

I really liked how the screenwrap made it feel like I was a swimming around in circles in the bowl. Maybe that's what you were going for with that mechanic, but if not, happy coincidence! :D

The current control scheme makes the fish VERY difficult and annoying to control, if you want to use a turn/go forward method I'd suggest using something where you can point anywhere instantly (like a mouse or joystick) and giving the character a lot of friction. Also, the wrapping is a bit confusing since only you wrap around, not the food, and you can only wrap horizontally. If you want to introduce a game mechanic, then make it universal and reliable, otherwise the game feels bugged.

Thanks for the feedback. I was originally going to restrict the fish to the sides of the bowl but had trouble with the walls so I just decided to wrap the sides to make it easier. I was luckily able to add a speed restriction as well to the fish. You should have seen how fast that fish went without it XD. Either way I had fun making this game and learned a lot. Thanks for playing!

This game was very cute and simple, and I enjoyed playing it. Although it was not anything mind-blowing from a gameplay perspective, you executed it well, and I'm glad to see you used the jam as an opportunity to learn more about Game Maker!
It was part of my Twitch stream last night, which you can check out here if you'd like: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600892007
I play your game from around 44:00 through about 48:15. (I unfortunately didn't realize until watching it back that I set the resolution incorrectly so you can't see the whole thing on the stream.)
Nice work! Hope you had fun with the jam and that you'll participate in future ones! :)

I think it was an engaging and accurate gold fish simulator. I made it to the end! The world is too small for a fish!

This is certainly one of those games that gets easier the further you play - the food was much harder to catch when you're tiny! I was a little gutted that I didn't grow any further after I scored 1,000 points and I would've liked to have seen some enemies in there too to give it more challenge - but overall I hope you carry on making games and developing your skill and I hope you enjoyed it!

Thank you for the feedback. That was a known bug in my game that I for some reason could not figure out. It doesn't happen every time but you're supposed to keep growing until it's at 2000 points. As for the rest of the game, I would have loved to have added extra things like enemies but due the time constraint I didn't get a chance to. That's the best part about these game jams; even though I can't do everything I want to the game, I always have fun participating.
