I played this three times x)

    • On first try I failed to buy, bad day :(
    • On second try I went accidently to menu screen without opening the can :(
    • On third try I tried to send highscore, authorized and then pressed enter again, whoops: Token-error - can't authorize again and game closed. So I didn't get to send my score, which was around 32k ^^"

I really loved the graphics and humor in this game :D Also music was just spot on! ^^

Also was there planned losing condition for forgotting to turn off the oven?

Wait a second, do you remember how you got to the menu from the last room? hah.

I did not take token errors into consideration when putting in the leaderboard API, should've realised to add that in...

We originally planned that if you leave the oven on, by the time you get back from the store your house would be on fire (-> losing you the game). Didn't have time to implement that in though. :(

So I somehow made it through and got top of the leaderboard on my first playthrough. I probably had less than a second though and thought I'd actually failed.

Great game though. The music, art, just the whole presentation is fantastic. I played a second time just to see if there was anything I missed. It would've been cool if playing bass got you some points. Maybe just a very quick guitar hero style game or something in there. I know there wouldn't have been much point since you only have a minute but still would've been cool.

But really I don't have any complaints or issues. It was a fun game that was very impressive, especially considering it was done in only 48 hours. Great work.

This game is hilarious. If i had to critique I would add a way to just now show the start sequence at all. Also - authorizing after enabling fullscreen seems to get it stuck in borderless windowed mode until you toggle fullscreen again

First playthrough: Cool, Imma play some base, turn off the oven, walk outside, drive like my mother is watching. "Today was not a good day" Oh....

Second playthrough: Forget the stove, I hope my house burns down! Did the guy in the blue car just give me a look?! I'll run every single one of them off the road! DUDE WHY WON'T MY CARD PAY?! I NEED A BEER!!!

Everything down to the color choice is done so incredibly well. I don't know if you ran out of time to draw the beer can at the end, but I'd like to think it was done on purpose because it's all about the journey and not the reward.

Lovely graphics! I included it in my GM48: Sixty Seconds compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/KFZGXZMxHA8

The art style is great, for the most part, and the among us -style minigames work well for a game with such deep and meaningful narrative. Also very good use of the theme!

Really nice game! The concept is fun, and I enjoyed all the little minigames you have to go through on the beer run. The art is beautiful - I like how it has a sort of purple-y neon vibe. The music is great as well. Not much to complain about really. It's a very well put together package.

The art is the best I think I've seen this gm48, top marks for that - and not just in terms of the artwork itself but also how it presents itself on screen (the comedy of seeing the floaty paws coming in to grab things like the ID & cans).

The gameplay packs a lot of different little mechanics into the minute that you have - which is nice.

Loved it. The music was awesome. There was a ton of artwork and it all looked great. Great game

The music here is very funky, love the synth vibes, I also like that you're encouraged to wreck the other cars though a little prompt on screen to do so would have been helpful - I did find switching between mouse and keyboard a little unexpected but the story and the hilarious gameplay payed off really well, great job!

Wacky and simple. My only regret is that my house didn't burn down

Super fun little game! Almost like WarioWare with the little minigames or the tasks in Among Us. It's really good at being comedic, and it's also very well suited for replayability, especially with the leaderboard. The game was fun enough for me to replay to the point where I topped the leaderboard. Great stuff!

I wonder who else has played the bass...

    • Very creative use of the theme!
    • “Catsio”. nice
    • The music is so good I almost didn’t notice it. Is it original?
    • Picking up a shopping basket doesn’t show on your character, I spent ages not being able to progress here thinking it hadn't done it!
    • I guess you ran out of time at the end, with the 'open the can' art, or perhaps it’s a dark metaphor for how he feels right before he has his beer.
    • Press space to do stuff is annoying, I’d rather walk off screen than stop and press space

Thanks! There's actually a few little "easter eggs" within the graphics.

The music is completely original, all three tracks were composed within the last 5 hours of the game jam.

There aren't many sound effects in the game but I recorded them myself in my car, heh.

Our artist kind of ran out of time towards the end, so some of the graphics towards the end are drawn by me (i'm pretty terrible at drawing, lol.)

How would you have handled interacting with items in the game?

Art is great. It's fun to play once or twice but otherwise it's not really replayable. There was no consequence for leaving the oven on (e.g. house burns down). Reminds me of the game Night in the woods.

Okay the "Kaljakaupoille" name and great gif got me, I just had to try this out asap.

    Very nice things:

    • Concept
    • Highway play
    • Miami vice vibes in all aspects of the game
    • Cat paw grab very good and authentic 5/5

    Things I missed:

    • Overall the game was very nice experience but I wish there would have been more playable things. Even just some small on/off kind of stuff to find out and score.

I like how the game page icon gif would make a great contribution to 5sec movies kind of thing. The timing makes it hilarious.
