You play as a robot who has crash-landed in the desert. You're falling apart, but you can use that to your advantage. Your head can detach from your body and fly around on its own, but your body can't jump without its head. Work within these limitations to solve puzzles and progress through a beautiful and varied world.

Controls: A/D to walk W/Space to jump E to detach head and switch between head and body controls Q to reset level

Important Note: to rejoin your head and body, switch control away from your head while hovering above your body.

Warning: If you press "w" or "space" to get past the title, you'll end up in a blank screen and have to restart the game. Sorry about this small bug.

I liked the game mechanic, I was surprised when head got deattached :D I didn't read game description beforehand so I didn't notice the gif-animation showcasing it. I did beat the game, there were good amount of puzzles. Main mechanic got pretty much explored so there couldn't have been more levels without introducing something new, or else it would have felt repeating itself. Graphics looked good and I like the style, and I appreciate non-pixel graphics too :) I would have hope some music or sound effects. But good entry overall :)

This was pretty clever and well made. The puzzles were alot of fun and well designed, especially the last one. I do think you could find a way to add a bit more variety though since for the most part it is just detaching your head to push a switch and moving the body through. I'm not really complaining about that, for a 48 hour game jam you've made some clever puzzles and quite a few of them too, but if you intend to continue this in the future perhaps adding some hazards or other means of progression would give the game a bit more variety.

I was able to get my head stuck a couple of times by jumping and detaching when I hit a ceiling, or by moving blocks onto the head and stuff but generally I could I find a way to recover the head.

The art was great. I really loved all the scenery you created. It all looked amazing. It would've been nice to have some sound to go along with it but I understand considering the time constraints.

You've put together a really nice game though and I'd love to see more of it in the future.

Thanks for playing -- I appreciate all the feedback with respect to the amount of hazards/mechanics in the game. Yes, the lack of sound was just due to running out of time, and I really wish we were able to get some in. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with the game!

The first time I tried to play this, I constantly ran into the issue Singleshot brought up where pressing SPACE in the start screen makes your character spawn above a pit. I guess I was pretty adamant about just using the SPACE key, because after a while I just gave up and moved on to rate other entries.

But today I decided to check this game out again and just so happened to see the feedback Singleshot left behind, and so I opened the game back up and played through it.

The puzzles were put together well (a little bit of tweaking here and there wouldn't hurt of course), and I enjoyed playing through them. The art is very well done also, it's just a shame that there are no sound effects to accompany it. There were only a few minor things I noticed which are worth bringing up. First, your head can get trapped inside of blocks if you push a block on top of where it is sitting, such as for example a button. It's mostly the fault of the player anyways, but still worth mentioning.

For the level where you jump into the pit at the end, I'd recommend adding an arrow or some kind of indicator that this is where the exit is. Not that it's difficult to see that there is a wall after the pit, I just think it'd be a nice reassurance since it's the only level which ends this way (I'm probably just paranoid about the pits since I ran into that SPACE key issue the first time around, haha).

Mostly just minor nitpicks. Overall I really enjoyed this entry, if you plan on expanding upon it I'm sure it wouldn't take long to fix up any of the main issues.

Thanks for giving it another shot! Sorry about that pit issue... It's a really idiotic mistake on my part wherin the player can basically jump back through the transition they spawn from, and get dumped into a setup level that you shouldn't ever see.

This was a pretty smooth gameexperience! Art was super nice and refreshing. Really missed those sound effects though. I think when you'd add some more puzzle elements to this, introduce a few features this can really be nice! I liked the last two puzzles!

Pretty neat game, well done puzzles, not sure how well it fits the theme but I did enjoy it.

also this happened when I hit space to start the game.

Not sure what that was about.

anyways, the art sttyle was nice, and if there was some sound effects and music this be a strong contender for top 10 easy.

    nice job!

The puzzles are so well-made! It's fun to fly around as just a head, then drop back onto the body when it's time to move on. This graphics style is very pretty. I really enjoyed this game. Well done!

One of my favorite entries so far, fun game and great artwork. -1 because Headlander exists and -1 because the frustration when blocks get stuck but overall really enjoyed this game, great job!

Great job! I loved this game! The puzzles arose organically from the limits of the characters and I think the difficulty and length was perfect for gm48, which is a hard balance to hit. Nice tutorial and difficulty curve. I really liked the art too. I wish there was sound/music. Also, when I tried to fullscreen right at the start of the game, I was stuck looking at the sky and couldn't see my characters so had to restart to play it windowed. But that's a minor thing, this was really nice.

Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. That bug at the beginning is a stupid oversight on my part, but I'm glad you enjoyed the game anyways.

Nice game! The level design and art was especially good. If I had one criticism it would be that the concept itself is a bit simple, but the game is short and so well made it didn't become a problem. Well made guys :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes, in retrospect the idea is overly simple, and I wish I had gone with something riskier. Thanks for playing and giving feedback.

Hah, this was awesome! I didn't look at your description before playing the game, so I had no idea how much joy a flying head was about to bring me.

Definitely wish there was sound or music, but the art is gorgeous and the gameplay is fun :) Good work!

I really love the art style, and the gameplay was cool. You used the mechanic well to make good puzzles with some genuine "a ha!" moments which is great. Wish there had been some music and/or sound to enhance the atmosphere, but it was a great entry overall.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the puzzles. I just ran out of time to add sounds, but if I keep working on the game that will definitely be my number one priority.

Gameplay: Level design is solid, just keep in mind that you should present the problem before the player can solve it. I like the tutorialization as you play, although there are ways to get stuck before you teach the Q to reset in game, maybe remove those or teach it earlier. Maybe you should be able to fly faster, it drags a bit in longer corridors.

Art: Love the artstyle! It's a nice desert at night vibe~

Sound: No sounds that I could heard :o

Theme: Your robot is able to make his head fall off at will, I'd say it fits well :)

Thanks for the feedback! All your suggestions are great and I'll definitely implement them if I keep working on the game. Glad you loved the art. Sounds are another thing I just ran out of time for... so yeah, it sucks there aren't any. Thanks again for playing and offering your opinion!
