Your parcel is out for delivery.

You work at the mega coorporation Amazwon. Take orders from the ever increasing customer base, and deliver them in time. Take orders, collect the packages, and deliver them - making sure to pay attention to the order in which the orders were sent.

As your shifts continue, you'll find yourself with more packages to deliver, and tighter time restrictions to complete the deliveries in. How long will you be able to survive, under these harsh working conditions?

(Note in case it isn't made clear enough within the game. When collecting/delivering parcels, ensure to follow the order shown in the top left of the screen - from left to right. Also, when delivering parcels, parcels should be delivered to their corresponding houses, which share their colour.)

The hard-stop collisions really make you FEEL like an Amazwon employee 🤣 I would have liked if the player could slide against walls (especially because the player's movement in the isometric section was not aligned with the blocks). The game having 2 sections was a very welcome surprise and made it feel unique!

I like how there are two phases to the game with completely different mechanics. It gives the game good pacing. I did find the collision detection a bit ungenerous and spotty at times, but I managed to play around it. Good job on your submission!

This was surprisingly stressful to complete, I managed to do the first run with 1 second remaining! For me the warehouse is a lot more difficult, maybe because of the odd angle, but even after playing a couple of times, I can't quite master the controls. Aside from being stuck once outside, it was a really fun game! Great job!

Fun submission! As others have said, the "outside"/next mini-game was a really nice surprise and added a lot to the submission. Was this the plan from the beginning or did you decide to implement it later on? Simple and enjoyable submission - thank you for making this :)

Heya, thanks for the kind words, I appreciate them a lot!

As for the idea of having two seperate phases, that was the plan from the beginning of the jam, though I wasn't too sure exactly how it was going to look until I implemented it, I knew I wanted to have both a "collection" and "delivery" section in the game. So I allocated the first day towards the collection phase, and the second towards the smaller delivery phase, and other stuff such as the music. Which luckily, mostly went according to plan

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the game, and thanks for the feedback!

The art is somethat lacking, but the game itself is really fun! I LOVE the idea of the two-part gameplay, one time getting the packages, and then delivering them in another "game-mode" so to speak. The loop is a bit short, so it got a tad bit annoying haha Delivering on time is hard as hell, had to retry a lot. But I like the challenge!

I'm now actually convinced it looks like this inside amazon warehouses lol

      Heya, thanks for the review!

Yeah, art has never exactly been a strong point of mine lmao. I need to start putting more practice into it so that I'll be able to make assets that at the very least don't detract from the experience lmao.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the gameplay loop itself! It was fun splitting up the gameplay into two parts that I needed to make individually, almost felt like I was making two mini games which linked together

(Assuming you're referring to the music when saying the loop is a bit short). If so, then that's because it was something I completely procrastinated doing until last minute, which meant I needed to rush it in the end to make sure the game wasn't played in absolute silence. Next time I'd like to put more time into it to see if I can make a song longer than like a 10second loop haha

Balancing the time restrictions so that it was challenging yet still enjoyable was definitely difficult, so I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the challenge! Though yeah, with all of the random generation, it's pretty easy to have a run where it feels nearly impossible lmao.

Never been inside an amazon warehouse before, but I'd like to imagine it looks something like that - hopefully with a bit less of a chaotic layout though

Thanks for checking out my game!

I think I caused thousands of dollars worth of property damage playing this game. The controls were a little clunky for the isometric parts I found but I thought the intention was well communicated. I liked how it tied into the theme too. Good job!

Sounds like you'd make for the perfect Amazwon driver then lmao.

Been seeing a lot of feedback regarding the isometric controls, so that's something I'm definitely going to need to improve on going forward, but I'm glad you still enjoyed the game!

      Thanks for the review

There is a whacky, silly vibe to this that I think is hilarious, I always worry about the delivery driver steamrolling through my front window when I order things online haha! I think the controls on the isometric part took a little getting used to and it took me a little while to realise I needed to get the parcels in order but overall this is a fun, light-hearted game, good job!

Heya, I'm super glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

Yeah, I wanted to try and keep a bit of a lighthearted funny theme when it came to designing this game (thus the sort of stanley parable themed banner), so I'm glad to hear you appreciate that

As for the isometric controls, they can definitely take a while to get used to for some people, but hopefully that is worth the payoff of having an isometric artstyle within the game

In regards to the parcels, in heinsight I definitely should've tried to make it more clear that you should deliver them in the right order - that's something I'll try to take into more consideration moving forward.

      Thanks for the feedback!

I loved that the game had 2 seperate phases where you drove out to deliver the order after picking all the items. I hit a but on my first playthrough where I couldn't pick up items after I put the first one in the crate, but thankfully it didn't happen the 2nd time. I personally found the controlls on the isometric layout frustrating; so I physically rotated my keyboard to match the game and it seemed to help! The driving sequence would have been easier to navigate if the streets were a little wider, but it handled smoothly, so koodos to you!

Great entry and right on theme!

      Heya, thanks for the review!

I'm glad to hear all of the positive reception regarding the inclusion of 2 seperate gameplay phases, even if it ate up a lot of development time and was challenging to implement, it seems like it was a worthwhile decision.

As for the bug, I'm not entirely sure what caused that. I've tested the game pretty extensively, but not encountered the issue myself, so it might have just been a unique bug caused under certain conditions. I'll give it some more thought and see if I can figure out the cause

As for the frustration caused by the isometric controls, that's perfectly understandable. Though I'm a massive fan of isometric gameplay and such, I'm still not entirely sure the best way to implement it such that it feels natural and enjoyable to as many players as possible. I'll keep this in mind next time I create an isometric control layout and see if I can come up with better alternatives.

In regards to the wideness of the streets, I intentionally tried to keep them relatively narrow in order to ensure that it would be more challenging - but I can see how that may also be frustrating. I may not have perfectly struck the balance between finding a wideness that was both fun, fair, and challenging. I'm glad to hear that the controls for the car handled smoothly though!

Thanks for checking out my game!

I think the concept of the game works quite well, and enjoyed that you were able to fit two different gameplay styles into a jam game (not an easy feat!). I found difficulty telling some packages/houses apart when they were really similar colors, which was a bit frustrating. I think instead labeling them with numbers or letters would have been more user friendly, especially I imagine to people with color blindness (I'm not colorblind and it was an issue for me). Despite that issue, the swapping between gameplay styles keeps the game feeling fresh, and the timer does give some replayability which I enjoy.

      Heya, thanks for the feedback!

As for the issue with colours being super similar, from my perspective when developing the game that was meant to add to the difficulty level, but I can see in heindsight how it may be frustrating, or even unfair at times - especially for players suffering with colourblindness. I'll be sure to take that moreso into consideration moving forward

I'm glad to hear that overall, the game still managed to feel enjoyable without getting too repetitive - which is why I included that switch between gameplay to begin with. Though it was hard to balance how much time the player should be given to keep it challenging yet fair, I'm happy to hear that it ended up being a positive addition to the game

Thanks for the kind words, and I appreciate the constructive criticism which I'll be sure to consider moving forward!

I have no idea what that car section of the game was but I loved it. This game was fun but I'm not gonna lie I was very confused even though it seems simple I just couldn't figure out what was going on. I liked the iso view on the first section of the game. Good game man.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

As for the confusion, maybe I could've done a better job explaining what exactly you're meant to be doing in either the game's description, or within the game itself.

The basic idea is just collecting the packages, then delivering them to their colour coordinated house, while making sure to do so in the order shown in the top left of the screen.

And yeah, at first I was unsure whether to go for a classic top down view, or an isometric view, for the first section of the game. By the seems of it, sticking with isometric was the better decision

      Thanks for the feedback!
