Duel in the Desert is a duel shooter set in the Wild West that tests your accuracy and reflexes. You take control of a skilled duelist fighting his way 1v1 through stages of rugged bandits.
The game has 5 stages with increasing difficulty. You only get one bullet per stage. If you miss, you are dead. Make your shots count!
This was my first entry to a game jam ever and I hope you enjoy it!
P.S. For the best experience download and play the Windows version. The HTML5 port might be buggy/have bad performance.

Simple but well made game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the GM48, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/RxB8WIjpWF0

The third guy is really tough.
I liked the concept, it's a fun mini-game.

You nailed the feeling of a duel. Great idea for the mechanics! My only suggestion is to add some music to it, or ambience sound, to create some suspense.

Nice idea, but I'm not sure the mouse controls were as good as they could've been.

I really like that you have to have your cursor at the bottom before you can draw your weapon. I thought it was a good way to simulate a duesl scenario.
I would suggest maybe making the collison mask on the player a little bigger. If youre off by a few pixels it doesnt register. It might help with gamefeel.
Very nice!

I really like the concept! Unlike many games of the kind, you actually need to "draw" before shooting.
One suggestion would be to punish the player for drawing too soon cause you can basically try to "cheat some time" by going as fast as possible when it's one instead of waiting for the draw.
Although I like the innovation of the mechanic, it's not as fun as it sounds in my honest opinion. (or rather, that's what I felt) It felt awkward to try to aim, especially so precisely, with a mouse. To be more specific, moving the cursor then stopping: you go left, stop in the right place, click your character then go right, hoping to stop at the right place for the enemy. No idea what alternatives there could be though, but that's how I felt about it.
In any case, cool mechanic!

Fun game! Seems like we had similar ideas :)
I didn't get past the third stand-off because I'm playing with the notebook's touchpad :(
I liked the minimalist art =]SubmittedCangaço StandOff

Hooking idea! Who doesn't want to be fastest in Wild West, eh?
Maybe we later see a longer game placed in the Wild West and the duels are fought like this.
I love it!
