Very interesting game. I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GM48 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/6oxsNSlqcYM

Great twist and nice writing, especially the GML SUX message written in blood, hehe.

I love the way you interpreted the theme :D
Too bad the game is so short, I feel like you could have built up to the signpost trying to kill you

    Nice little game.

I played it, and then I played it again, because this totally feels like the kind of game that should have different messages the second time around.

(btw, if you go under the little lip of a stair step and hold down jump it'll play the jump sound every step) (also you can keep jumping at the end when it's fading to white) :P

Short & sweet. Cute, well made graphics, catchy soundtrack, and a nod to a sentient games. The game isn't all too hard, I'd even go as far to say, it's impossible to lose if you know your platforming.

    Over all, I liked it.

Interesting idea and a unique take on the theme. I feel like more could have been done with it but obviously you had limited time and I think the core ideas came across well. The bit with all the code in the background was a particularly nice addition. The visuals and audio were overall quite effective at conveying the mood.

Oh my GOSH!!! hahahaha.. My son and I always joke about how much we hate games (not game jam games but real production games) that hold your hand the whole time. Like "look over here and press this button" most of the times I'll stop playing a game if there is too much of that. So YOU'RE game made me laugh the whole time. I think your game might be the only one where the "game" itself is the helpful but harmful mechanic.

****spoiler alert for new players** The GML code at the end and the smeared "blood" maybe was creepy and perfect. I really like this and wish there was more to it. Was that an actual screenshot of your code? hmmm.. maybe I should play through again and read through it prob would answer my own question. lol NICE. very nice funny game!!

Nice little experience. I kinda wish there was more to it, it was rather immersive. I would have liked the text to be a bit faster and the ending to be a bit more substantial. Going through the "core" feels like it could have been a cooler experience if we could do more.

But yeah it's a game jam so I guess it's a bit too time heavy for it. In any case, it was nice! :)

Also, you shouldn't be continually jumping by holding space, should be a keyboard_check_pressed

The story is really refreshing and manages to create a special atmosphere.

The music is perfect and even the sound effects are not bad.

The dialogues in some parts are too slow and force you to stay still and wait for them to end.

This was a cool little experience. The art was nice, and the sound design/music were solid. Great job!

At the final room of the game it felt like I passed through the dialogue options too quickly, maybe it would've been nice if the game prompted me to press a button to read the signs so I would feel more engaged with what was said on the screen, or perhaps just making the dialogue come out slightly faster. Other than that, it was a genuinely fun game. The music was nice, the dialogue sound was fun, and the bit towards the end felt eerie with the combination of the music change and the background change. This game reminded me of the narrative style of undertale, with the dialogue noise and the eerie change towards the end. And also the comical idle sprite animation where he checks his watch was a nice touch that I did enjoy, though it felt like it came out a bit too quickly, but if it didn't come out so quickly maybe I wouldn't have even noticed it existed.

Overall I did enjoy this game, and it got me engaged enough to get a smirk and even a chuckle out of me, which is all I can ask for in a game really.

Seemed like it was going to go somewhere, didn't really. Dialogue was confusing and I suppose it was helpful but harmful when it removed the platforms. The basement was pretty cool.

A very short game that I found very confusing. Most of the dioluge didn't make sense and just very confusing. I feel like this could be a good game if it got some time to develop

Please note the audio on my computer isn't working so I cant rate the audio
