I think every death was cause by a plane crashing on my main engine :D which is pretty fun, but I wish there was a way to dodge or protect your plane with something similar to the "gain altitude" machine. I also think as a single player game, less time should be spent in the turret. I'm thinking of somethink like an attack in two step, for example you go in one place to charge then you chose the turret, aim, and shoot, and maybe you have to do this a few times to kill a plane, but at least you're still going around the ship doing that, which is the best part of the game! I always felt like I spent too much time shooting at other planes here.

Very cool game overall, and I really liked the music!

This was a fun one but I do think there are some improvements that could be made.

    • It wasn't always obvious why my ship was taking damage. Sometimes parts of the ship would just take damage even though it didn't appear I had been hit by anything (maybe that's just part of the game where things take damage over time but I wasn't sure).

    • It would be nice to have an indicator or something of when there are enemies around. You can't tell without boarding a turret and often I was repairing something somewhere else. Would just be nice to know when an enemy is around before I start seeing their bullets hit my ship.

    • Would be nice to have a bit more enemy variety and perhaps have them attack from both sides. The turrets on the far left seem a bit pointless really when the enemies just appear on the right.

    • The text would often get stuck being very huge and covering most of the screen when zoomed in. When Zoomed out it would occasionally just have a double layer or something. This would generally happen after entering or exiting a turret so I guess the text just isn't always scaling back to the correct value.

    • I managed to beat the game on my first try. At first I was playing the intended way, repairing stuff and using the turrets to shoot down the planes. Then I had about 5 planes to contend with and 1000m to go. So I gave up on using the turrets, went over to the black box (The engine?) and just mashed 'W'. I was able to repair it, faster than it took damage and ride out the attack until the game ended. Again with some enemies on the other side or some other enemy types that deal damage in different ways, this probably wouldn't be possible.

As I say, there is room for improvement, but I did enjoy the gameplay as it is now. The graphics and music were also very well done. Overall a good submission.

I managed to get pretty far away, and had own ship in really good shape. But then one enemy plane just broke to pieces (from below my ship I think), now all those pieces went to my ship and and destroyed it completly, without any way I could have prevented it :( It was nice entry otherwise, nice music. Bullets could have gone faster, as it was hard to target. Now one tactic I had was to shoot up, so I had bullet-rain on enemy planes ^^

By the way, I recommend you to play my game, so you understand better the other entry you commented 'cool cinematic' ;)

    Really solid entry all around.

Only real complaints are that the turrets felt sluggish. And the UI broke every time I stepped in and out of one. Maybe speed the bullets up a bit?

The concept was great, and the game play loop really reinforced the theme. Good job!

This game really keeps you on your toes; you have to constantly keep an eye on every component. It's cool that entire chunks of the ship get destroyed if a plane crashes into it - it makes the player think twice before blindly shooting down enemies. Great game!

Awesome entry! The repairing and shooting mechanic was fun to juggle. Loved the pacing!

I had a ton of fun playing this! I loved the art style, the music and sound effects were fantastic too!

It did take a few tries to get used to everything / figure it all out (which led to me feeling "behind" the first time I played it) but great work here :)

I really liked this entry, I wish there was a bit more variety of enemies but they worked well for the jam time constraints. The artwork and concept were really cool. I felt like I was trying to get my air ship away from a barage of enemies. I kinda felt like the repair function didn't work or I didn't know when I was in the "repair hitbox" for the ship components. Other than that, solid game.

Feels great and looks amazing. I agree with SpritePainter, this would be a great coop game.

This was really fun and frantic. It would make a really good starting point for a coop multiplayer game.

there is a bug where the text gets bigger when you enter the gunner seat, but otherwise a good game!
