Controls:

  • Alternate between pressing Z and X to pedal the bicycle.
  • Use the up and down arrows to change lanes and avoid obstacles.
  • Press Escape to exit the game.

You can also use use an Xinput gamepad! (although I personally prefer keyboard)

  • Pedal with LB/RB or LT/RT or A/B.
  • Change lanes with the D-Pad or Left Stick.

Warning: I forgot to program a restart function for when you win the game. Press Escape to quit when that happens. Losing will give you a restart option.

This project was a solo endeavor. Everything here was made by me.

This is actually the first game jam I've ever finished. Although it isn't perfect, I'm personally very happy with what I was able to accomplish, especially since I started 1/4 of the way through the jam.

This was a simple game but presented really well and really enjoyable. It was like a cross of 'Excitebike' and 'Track and Field'. The music was perfect and pretty catchy. I really liked it. The art fit game really well and the gameplay was fun too.

However there are a few things that could be improved. I realise it's hard to satisfy everyone but I feel some alternate keys would've been nice for keyboard use. I didn't have my controller nearby so I used the keyboard and I don't know about others but I find these sort of games more comfortable if my hands are closer together. I'd also prefer to be doing the button mashing with my right hand. Something like 'W' and 'S' for changing tracks and 'K' and 'L' to cycle would've been more comfortable for me. But again, I realise everyone has their own personal preferences in these sort of things so it's impossible to please everyone.

The other thing is the ending. Just would've been nice if there was something there. A 'Well done' then game restarts even would've been good. The way it just sits there currently feels pretty anticlimactic.

But really other than those 2 things I enjoyed it. It's just simple and fun. Perfect for this theme really.

not too much to say, it’s a pretty simple game that's done pretty well. having some form of ending/credits would have been nice. The game just kinda sits there and you have to force close it, That kinda sucked.

    Still pretty good job here!

Cute game! The concept is simple but executed very well. The idea of alternating key presses to simulate pedaling neat, though it gets a bit tiring after a while. I also enjoyed the various obstacles on the track.

The graphics are very colourful and charming. I particularly like how the wheels animate as you go faster. The audio is likewise very charming. The music is nice to listen and the sound effects are well used. Great job!

ADORABLE chiptune track. I was doing a little dance in my chair while cycling along. I barely managed to complete the track on my frist try with 3 seconds to spare!

Nice and simple, and certainly fun to play in the short time frime you are given. Would like to see a similar thing but with a few more mechanics added.

Beauty in simpicity, really enjoyed the retro style in the art and sound too. I busted out the gamepad to give it a go and it works great with keyboard or gamepad so +1 for that. It is very forgiving though, my first time round I hit a lot of obstacles but still managed to clear the stage, maybe adding a highscore system to encourage replaying the track, or adding harder tracks. Overall a positive experience and a great effort especially for a solo developer

Thanks for your feedback! I am planning to make a post-jam version at some point, and I will probably add a highscore system there, as well as a few more types of hazards. I'm glad you liked it!

Fun little game! I included it in my GM48: Sixty Seconds compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/g5B8P6iV1PI

Great job recreating the NES feel; everything from the graphics to the music really nailed it. The game is solid, and requires a lot of focus to keep pedaling while dodging obstacles. Well done!

I like the retro vibes of this one, cute pixel art and a fun concept, a whole lot of mashing Z & X which will no doubt cause RSI with enough plays though haha :) some possible ideas if you expand on this is procedural generation so the track isn't the same each time :) but overall, fun concept and good game

I did consider procedural generation, but due to time constraints and a lack of familiarity with the concept, I opted against it. I might add it in the post-jam version though!

I tripped up a lot, and forgot you have to use x and z instead of left and right at the star, but it I barely scraped by in 60 seconds on the first try. Like the game!
