The animations make it really fun to just jump around and strum the banjo. Movement is cool but I don't think it's ever taken full advantage of. Real short, but it took a couple tries to actually make the dragon die first. Unfortunately the successful ending was a bit of disappointment.

I failed my first try and the second started the same, so I don't know if the places the sword lands are randomised, but the second one at the top was definitely the most difficult. It's an interesting concept but there's not really enough space to experiment with the sliding around, so I ended up cheesing most of the game by spamming space (I crossed my arms, right hand on the spacebar and left hand on the arrow keys), since it adds vertical velocity, I could make crazy jumps instead of just slowing down the fall :D
The only jump that required sliding was the one on the left, but it was easy enough. For the rest I just tried walking slowly and stopping regularly, since there's no way to know when the bard will start to slide.SubmittedDelivery Game

I enjoyed this submission and sliding around on the banjo was a nice touch. The art, voice/sound effects were great and I enjoyed the losing end screen lol (which I saw several times). It was a bit too difficult for me so I never got to see what you prepared for the ending, but I'm going to assume that there was something as this game felt polished and complete. Nice work!

The movement mechanic feels fun. I love the design of the player character, how I use the banjo for both gnarly tricks AND sick tunes. I missed music while playing but fortunately I got to make my own!

For a game jam game, the art style, sound effects, and voice acting are all fantastic in this game. The character designs were great, and I enjoyed the premise of delivering the sword to an incompetant prince. I did have some issues with gameplay, however. While the core of the platforming felt good, there were two features that I felt held it back.
First, playing the lute in the air is a neat idea for a double jump, but mashing the spacebar to gain more height felt a bit awkward. The way the levels were designed, most jumps required decently fast ascents which meant lots of mashing mid-jump. While it's an interesting take on the double jump that felt thematic to the game, I think a regular double jump (or, more accurate to what the mash-jump replicates, a variable jump height) would have served the gameplay better.
Second, while I loved the idea of sliding around on the instrument as a way to gain and maintain speed, it felt very much out of my control when it happened. Often I'd be approaching the lip of a platform, only for my character to decide it's sliding time and speed off the edge before I was really ready to jump. It also felt weird to transition from a slide into air movement- correct me if I'm wrong, but it felt as though you were unable to really carry all that momentum you built into the air, as as soon as you jumped friction would take back over. The former issue could be solved with a dedicated key to begin a slide (perhaps down, as it didn't seem to be used), and the latter could be solved with a separate air state for when the player is in a slide.
Still, I liked the style and concept of this game quite a bit and think you did an excellent job in the audiovisual department.

That guy really needs to learn how to use a sword properly hah! But jokes aside, quite a fun little game, the visuals are really charming, and I like the very miniman UI design too, don't need a lot to tell the player what's going on!

I liked the graphic style of this game, and the voice acting was quite entertaining. It was very difficult to beat, but I was able to do it eventually. I think it might have helped if you had mentioned somewhere that you will go up a bit from playing the banjo as I didn't think there was any purpose to that at first, but other than that, a very nice well presented game.

I think visually this is a really well presented game and I really enjoyed playing it, my only issue is that it was hard to control the character. Though I feel this is intentional, it was a bit tricky to land the jumps and sadly I had to let the prince die haha but overall this is a cute, fun entry and I had fun, good job!

The art style of this game is honestly pretty unique, and the sound design is unironically really good for a jam game lol.
Jumping on platforms was really tough given you don't really have a constant horizontal velocity with the dash mechanic, but on the flip side, it felt really satisfying moving max speed at parts where you actually could, and I feel this mechanic could have been used better along with the level design. I also really like the humour of this game, I did get a chuckle or two while playing this.
It was a short, fun experience I really enjoyed having :)

Your entries are always so impressive in art, music, and general feel and polish! This was a lil shorter than your previous ones, but it was still really high-standard for a gm48 entry, super pretty and aggressively adorable. Well done!

The game is a bit short, yes. But it's incredibly fun! The art is just amazing, voice acting is funny. I liked the idea! Very innovative, and also somewhat challenging. I love how you implemented a shot "tutorial" which just felt like part of the level, before the action starts. Really good entry overall!
