Can You Dance? is a rhythm game. Your opponent takes 4 beats to perform a dance. You then need to copy that dance in the next 4 beats. Do badly enough and you're out! Survive to the end and gain some fans!
You mean you've never dance battled before!? That's okay, I made it up, so of course you haven't!
The rules are simple. Your opponent gets 4 beats to bust a dance move. Watch and remember what they did!
Next, you get 4 beats to repeat what they did. If you mirror it pretty well, hey, you get more fans!
There are several different control schemes to help fit your computer!

Cute graphics, fun little game! I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/rCsnYYXDjwo

I am incapable of beating the first dancer. It's fun to try and copy him, but I just am not able to keep up with the "speed up" part on Mouse+KB. I enjoyed the art and music, the game is very polished and quite original. Just needs some more work on giving cues to the player when it's his turn (at least for the first level). Very wholesome entry with a lot of personality!

Nice looking game, good music, seems solidly made all around, as expected from you guys. I thought you used the theme in a cool way! And I understood what to do lol (it's literally shown in the game's thumbnail gif!), although I do think it would've been even clearer with something telling you when it's your turn.
But man, the third opponent is so damn hard. Haven't been able to beat him yet, whenever he combines a slide with something else, I always end up combining the wrong things lol... Might come back and try again later >.<

Oh yeah people weren't lying when they said this was impossible. It felt pretty great to finally understand the beats at speed two, only to get absolutely annihilated by the 3rd speed. I don't even understand the moves I'm supposed to do. Are these diagonals? Am I supposed to start before the dude finishes? Am I just too slow or did I do the wrong move? No idea, most of the time it feels like I'm doing things right but I have no feedback on what's wrong, and I'm not getting better by doing again and again the easy part :/
Honestly I've seen this kind of gameplay in a lot of games but I've never seen anything as hard as the 3rd speed. And that's only the 1st opponent?!

As others have mentioned, it was very hard from the tutorial stage on. esp after the first speed up. Some beat indicators esp when their sequence starts and when yours start would have worked wonders here. Another thing i would have loved would be a visual indicator for the sequence itself, so you can see exactly what you missed and what not.
I adore the concept though, and the graphical style is great. Very reminiscent of old school arcarde games. The music was fitting, but nothing special imho, though better than the usual Jam stuff.
Overall a really good game, with a great concept.
Edit: Oh yeah, i sadly have to give a low Theme rating, since there isn't even anything you could consider collecting.

I adore this game in concept (love rhythm games) and the assets are very well done. HOWEVER it's so damn HARD I couldn't even get past the tutorial and see the rest of it. I figured out how it's supposed to work pretty quick but it was still very challenging to get the moves right even before the addition of all the other mechanics. I'll be trying the game again in the future but for right now the difficulty kinda spoils it for me.
Still, good work on this!

The artwork, sound, and polish are so high quality that it's almost impossible to believe that this was made in 48 hours. If it was, my hats off to you!
That being said, I was not hooked by this game, and I failed to understand how it had anything to do with the theme. Again leading me to believe that this game was or at least parts of it was created prior to the jam.

I suck at this! I think it's because I don't know when 'my turn' is - I've tried copying the moves on the following bar of music, but that ends up being too late, I've tried doing it immediately afterwards - sometimes also too late - I've tried to copy it move-for-move as soon as the other character does them but I still fail. I can get to the bit where it speeds up for the first time but I die when it gets to the bit where he's doing arm movements and jumps at the same time - it's too much of a difficulty spike for me to handle!
Great graphics, concept and music - I wish I could see more of this game since I take it there's more people you can battle after the locker room guy :')

I liked the art and the music, but in rhythm games usually you have a marker to say when your beat starts. You can eventually get into step with the game, but I had to fail the tutorial a few times to get there.
If I were playing the game for fun instead of giving constructive criticism, you would have lost my interest once I lost the second time on the first level. A way around this might be a rating system where you can continue or retry. Being forced backwards isn't much fun. I would rather play through and have a goal of being the worst dancer ever. :D

I can't really figure out what this has to do with collecting. It kinda seems like this was made for a different jam.

Really fun game with great music! Unfortunately it was just a bit too hard! I couldn't make it past the third speed of the first guy. Would like to see a version with a visual indicator, but by the end of it I was starting to get the rhythm!
